"The Deluge"
S. Qasim Hasany
About fifteen millenniums or more ago,
When the first great human walked erect
with ego,
Leaving behind the paradise of
mindlessness
And was required to lead a life of
sourcefulness.
He was linked with the mighty
"Ego" of the creation,
And so were, his generation after
generation.
They were outsized folk by present
standards,
Lived lives not in decades, but in
hundreds.
Slowly and impreceptably they lost their
link with the "Ego".
And were overawed by outward signs of
the Ego.
Started prostrating before the rising
sun,
Elements of nature, animals, hewen in
stone in shapes human.
Thereby loosing their first fathers
noble qualities,
Acquired evil ways of nudity, fierceness,
committing cruelties.
And all other habits of the days of
mindlessness,
Till at last they were reverted to total
darkness.
Oft in centuries some man of ego
corrected them a while
But they lapsed again to former ways in
a while.
It was now about five or six millenniums
past.
That a mighty egoist was raised to wipe
their past.
He argued, beseeched persuaded to shun
their ways.
Recognize their ego, and fully at first
father's ways.
Day in and day out the mighty man
preached.
Century after century without any result
reached.
What happened to fuse story heated blocheads.
Is neither a love lyric nor falseful
ballads.
Preaching about a millennium was a task tremendous.
Eclipsing great events of wars, victories,
buildings stupendous.
The multi centenarian mighty man still
stout
From his insurgent people decided to tum
about
He complained to the "Supreme
ego".
God the one That he was overwhelmed, and
enemies had won
The Almighty God directed him to build
an ark
Under his own supervision, with nails
and planks.
The arch ruffians and hardened criminals
loughed.
"God's man has gone totally
mad", they passed remarks.
"He had been asking us to stun all
our dear deities.
"Wait", "Nasar"
"Yauq Suwa and Taghus our guardian mighties.
But we shunted his one God, whome he
failed to show
Till our five struck his head a stunning
blow"
“His matiness has reached to the stage
last
With a few kinsmen and companions
outcast.
He is hem to build a very big boat,
instead a cat
He failed to convert us, how he will convert
a boat into a cart
The chiefs pitied him at his mental
condition,
Making fun of his fanatic followers
condition.
But he warned them in clear terms of a
mighty flood,
That will drown them with their Yaghus,
Sawa, Nassar and Wadd.
At last, when the huge boat was ready to
float,
Kins, companions, pairs of domestics,
sheep and goat,
And other essentials were loaded in its
hold.
The oldest ever-man, Prophet Noah, atop
stood bold.
There was a crowd, as many had gathered
around,
Many still loughed at idea of sailing a
boat on ground.
There were many who thought of warning
of the flood,
But still clinged to their Yauq, Nassar,
Sawa and Wadd.
As a last effort to save a pervert son,
He induced him to become an obedient
son,
And board on boat as all will drown.
But he refused saying, "I will
mount on that hillock brown".
Now he stretched his huge and horny
hands towards sky,
And in a thundering voice, which echoed
in land nearby,
Invoked help of the Supreme Will of the
universe,
Cursed to be killed, all worshippers of deities
diverse.
His voice was still resounding around,
There was commotion in the crowd on
ground,
As a great thud of gushing water rose
higher and higher,
Bore the Ark on mighty waves higher and
higher.
Shrieks of drowning men and women filled
the air,
The earth vomited water which also
poured from the air.
The deluge drowned all, including
prophet's son,
But the ark sailed for days, like a ship
on ocean.
The prophet complained to God for not
saving his son,
But was rebuked for interceding for a
heathen.
The water stretched far and wide on
surrounding lands,
Covering them with mud, silt and sands.
Days after, the downpour stopped from
the sky,
And the earth sucked the water by and
by.
The Ark touched ground on a high
mountain range.
The surviving men and animals had to
face a life of change.
The deluge had given a bath to the
ancient world.
God blessed Noah and his men to live in
a washed world,
With His fear and love for human kind,
Wherein pride and passions had to be
subject to the mind.
