You probably heard the saying “blind as bat”.
It is not literally true. Bats have poor eyesight, but they are not blind and
in the darkness, they find their way out by a system of echo location. As they
fly along they emit continuous high pitched squeaks which echo back to them
from the surrounding objects. Their large ears and curious sensitive faces,
pick up these sound waves again and so they can judge their distance from the
walls and trees and telegraph wires. Bats can even fly in a room where strands
of cotton have stretched from wall to wall without becoming entangled.

The rise and fall of civilization is a
historical phenomenon. Spengler in his book “Decline of the West” predicts that
western civilization is on the decline and will ultimately face death.
According to him, the western civilization reached its height in the nineteenth
century, when it created excellent music, literature, art, sculpture and
architecture. With the advent of democracy, cheap literature for the masses and
pop music for the common man was produced. This vulgarized art, music,
architecture, literature everything.
To Spengler, this was a sign of decline.
Western civilization is different in many aspects, from the ancient
civilizations, which were restricted to what we now call the ‘old world’.
Western civilization is not confined to geographical boundaries, and extends
its sphere of influence to the new world, including America, Australia and New
Zealand. As western co unties have the best research facilities, the best
talents form Asian and African countries are migrating there. Knowledge has made
the west aware of the fact that they should change according to the needs of
the time. In this way they have learnt how to check the process of decline.

Some
people have wrong impression that making a speech is an ordinary job and
requires no specific at. When we watch people swimming in a pool, we think that
there is nothing difficult about it but we get to know the gravity of the
situation as we actually jump in the pool and swim. Similarly, when we hear a
speaker addressing an audience, we do not properly appreciate his hardship. We
get to know the difficulties involved when we take the floor during a public
debate ourselves and face the gathering. The first and the fore most task of
the speaker is to get over the stage fear; unless he succeeds in doing this he
cannot make a good speech in spite of the preparation. The floor appears to be

Islam is the religion of peace. Islam forbids
us from some works just for the favour of people, but many people do not
understand it and they carry on with those works which are unlawful in Islam.
For instance ‘telling a lie’ is forbidden in Islam, but many people say that
it’s their compulsion to speak lies because they believe that they can not get
a good profit in their business without it. Many workers speak lies in order to
amuse their boss. Many students speak lies in order to get rid of the punishment.
According to a scientific research, if a person has a habit of speaking lies to
the people; his mind is badly affected by this.
So we can say that Islam is a way
of life. All we need is to understand its teachings and try to bring them in
our routine life, then we will certainly find some good results.
Q1. Why do we say
that Islam is the religion of peace?
Q2. What are the
other things that Islam forbids us to do?
Q3. Why do many
people speak lies?
Q4. How can a
person’s mind be affected if he speaks lies?
Q5. How can we
make our lives good?

better than our fore-fathers? Of course, we have the advantage of the
inventions of science which our ancestors had never known. But let us search

the answer is ‘No’. In fact, science has added to our worries. Perhaps now we

Once upon a time, the United
States seemed to have plenty of land to go around. Plenty of space for parks
and for cities, plenty of forest and grasslands. But that was once upon a time
the days of unused land are over. Now the land has been fenced off, carved up
into cities and parks, farms and industrial parks put to use.
At the same time the population
keeps growing. People need places to work and place to play. So we need more
sites for more industries, more beaches and more clean rivers for fishers. Each

The
frequent break down of electricy has effected the industries badly. Due to this
the produciton of exportable items have been decreased resultantly our foreign
reserves have been being droped graduallly. Pakistan earns a lot of foreign
exchange by exporting clothes, sports goods, leather goods, and rice etc. This
year the flood has damaged the crops of rice and cotton. The owners of various
industries have either shifted from Karachi to any foreign country or locked
out their industries. On account of this many people have become jobless and
the youths have been involved in criminal activities. The incidents of decoites
and thefts have been rising day by day. The police at Karachi is quite
insufficient to handle the law and order situation efficiently for the reasons
that they have neither been trained with modern weapons especially with
defusing of explosive materials nor bringing out the trapped persons safe from
the burning fire in a building /factory. Some of the factories have neither fire

Parents and teachers play an important role in the life of a
child. A child is just like a blank paper and whatever the parents write on it,
it appears in the future, therefore there is a very famous saying, “ The first
learning place of a child; is the lap of a mother.” A child, in the beginning,
is totally depended upon parents. When the child grows up, he or she has to
come across the teachers who also play an active role for the development of
Children’s future. It is, therefore, truly said, “Teachers are just like
parents.” If both parents and the teachers perform their duties with devotion

We normally think
of chocolate as a sweet treat, but it began as a bitter beverage! Chocolate as
a food got its start in ancient times, when it wasn’t just a desert – it played
an important part in ritual and culture.
In ancient Latin
America, chocolate was worshipped- Literally! Both the may an and Aztec people
had gods that they believed, were responsible for bringing chocolate to earth
which was popular among nobility. It was believed that cocoa bean had magical
powers, and it was used during major life events like births, marriages and
deaths. Chocolates wasn’t mixed with sugar until Europeans came in contact with
the Americans in the 1500s, they brought it home to Europe; where it became an
expensive import and a symbol of wealth and status. In the mid-1600s, “chocolate
houses”, which were like the coffee houses, we have today, were a trendy
meeting place for English citizens. By the 1700s, chocolate was a part of life
for upper class citizens in Europe, believed to be a nutritious drink with many
health benefits. Back in America, chocolate was so popular that it was included
in the food for soldiers on the battlefield in the Revolutionary War. In the
early 1600s, the industrial Revolution was in full swing, and people quickly
found ways of speeding up the chocolate making process. In 1828, a Dutch
Chemist found a way to remove some of the natural fats from chocolate, which
lead to the creation of chocolate in food form. The first chocolate bar was
made in 1847, and by 1868, a company called Cadbury began selling chocolate
candies. The same years Nestle invented milk chocolates.

It is an irony for the Pakistani nation that they have been passing their
