Sensation and perception are two separate processes but closely related to each other. The sensation is input (perceiving things through five senses) about the physical world, and perception is the process by which the brain selects, organizes, and interprets these sensations.

Therefore, the senses function first, and then the human mind starts acting and then takes it into its perception. For example, if the nose smells something, the human brain will start to act upon it and after the process, it will come to know whether it is a fragrance or bad smell, it is good for a person or a bad one. In short, sensation comes first and then the perception.
