Difference Between Truth and Lie
They are two opposite actions. Can't get together, when one comes the other set off, and takes away their virtues or vices (evils).
Truth leads to a peaceful life, to virtue, to good deeds, and finally to the eternal peaceful abode (the paradise).
Lies lead to wickedness, distress, anxiety, worries make a living hell, here & hereafter.
Here I will write a short story that tells how a lie makes the life hell.
It is said once a person's wife demanded to hire a servant. The man found a servant, who was ready to work on very minimum wages, the owner asked why are you demanding the lowest salary, he said I tell only one lie in a year, it is my habit, he said no problem and hired him.
When few months passed, the servant told the mistress if she wanted that her husband should love and care for her forever, then tonight, she must cut a hair from his beard with a stab and wrap it in the paper, he gave her. He (husband) will become her servant and will obey her.
She thought it isn't difficult, she nodded yes I ll do it tonight.
After this dialogue the servant went to the master, and said, o master, I am your sincere servant, can't see your murder, tonight mistress is going to kill you with a sharp stab, I am warning you, save your self, otherwise, you will be killed.
He told the master in such a style that he believed in him. Now the master was waiting for the moment, he was awaking but acting to sleep when his wife saw her husband is deep sleeping, she took out stab under his pillow and went near her to cut a hair, the husband was awaking. He thought the servant was right in his saying. When she came near him, he snatched the stab from her hand and killed her with the same stab.
In the morning servant went to the police and informed them, his master has killed his wife. He guided them to the stab and other prooves, police arrested him and put him in prison. Here one lie made the life of family, hell.
Think about the people who lie 24 hours, what are they doing? May Allah save us from telling a lie and guide us to the right path. I will end this on a beautiful saying of Holy Prophet (PBUH), which is full of wisdom:
Avoid falsehood, for falsehood, leads to wickedness and wickedness to hell; and if a man continues to speak falsehood, He becomes fearless in lying makes falsehood his mission, he will be recorded in Allah’s presence as a great liar. And adhere to truth, for the truth leads to good deeds, and good deeds lead to paradise. If a man continues to speak the truth and makes truth his object, he will be recorded in Allah’s presence as eminently truthful.” (Sunan-Abi-Dawud: Hadith No. 4989)
