Karachi was known as the city of lights and considered a venue of opportunities — a place where thousands of people used to come to earn their livelihood while many come for entertainment and fun. Foreign investors whose initial choice for any investment used to be this city of Karachi due to availability of all facilities of their choice and requirements have stopped visiting Pakistan, except under compulsion.
Due to poor law and order
conditions, foreign exchange has become shy of Pakistan.
The residents are living
in an atmosphere of helplessness and fear from looters, extortionists and
target killers. Their life too has become miserable. From streets crimes to
targeted killings there are unending cycles of violence while the government machinery
and those responsible for the maintenance of law and order lie helpless. A
crippled Karachi means a crippled economy; — as this megacity is an economic storehouse of the country.
Some antistatic elements by putting Karachi on fire are trying to destabilize the country. Due to the threat of extremism and bad government society is in the process of being destroyed. The law of jungle has permitted everybody to do whatever they want. Ordinary people are to put many of his resources to safeguard their life and honour. Leaving their homes in. an atmosphere of uncertainly keep them worried for themselves and for their near-ones so long they had to stay out. This demon is destroying this mega-city in steps. The law to stop the demon which is taking dozen of human lives every day is not visible anywhere.
The media has repeatedly
been pointing out this important aspect but no serious and result-oriented action has been taken. No progress has been visible except one or two
statements from the authority'' concerned for media consumption. A quick and
easy made statement is forwarded that a big number of the police force has been
attached with ministers, advisers, political leaders and like for their
security. With the meagre strength of law enforcers, the crime scene could not be
attended. The law enforcers are themselves faced with the difficult situation in
crime investigation.
The occurrence of these
incidents have disfigured the face of society but the law enforcers do not
heed to these incidents. 'Mind it that no society can prosper and develop in a
tension laden atmosphere.
