This world has millions, of colors combinations. To identify all these colors, we have eyes that can recognize these colors and enjoy them. The eyes have a world of colors inside it. All the color in human life is due to these eyes. Otherwise, the whole universe will become colorless. But there are some people they can see but do not have the ability to recognize colors. These people are called color blind.

Colorblind people cannot distinguish between many colors, especially red and green. Some people who are completely color blind can't tell the difference between colors and they see things as black, grey or white. The disease is often hereditary.

The incidence rate in males & females

Males have a higher rate than females. The incidence rate of this disease in males is about 60 to 65% while in females it is 35 to 40%.

Most affected countries

According to a report, Arab countries, Norway, the Netherlands, France and Russia have higher rates of color blindness than other countries.

Reasons

In addition to genetic and hereditary causes, diabetes, vitamin A deficiency, misuse of certain medications can also cause the disease. an accident or injury can also damage that part, and ultraviolet rays can also cause it. Shaking or bouncing a newborn or very young baby hard affects their eyelids. Besides this, the ability to recognize color decreases with age.

Symptoms

Most colorblind people do not recognize red and green. Some people have blue-yellow color blindness. Such people cannot combine blue and green and red and yellow. That is, if they have blue and green things in front of them, they will not know the difference and they will consider most things as blue. Many people do not recognize yellow. Some see all colors blue, yellow and grey.

Diagnosis

For the correct diagnosis of color blind people, an "Ishihara color test" is performed.

Treatment

Because it is inherited and genetic, no specific treatment is possible. But a recent article published in the scientific and research journal Optic Letters on the eye and sight has brought great good news and hope for color blind people and resolved their problem. As it has claimed that such contact lenses have been made which will make color blind people see all colors especially red and they can easily distinguish between green and red. This technology is no less than a blessing for the color blind.

International Day

Color Blind Day is celebrated every year on September 6 to make people aware of this.
